The favourable reception given by the publicto the two previous books, “Mexico and HerPeople of To-day” and “Guatemala and HerPeople of To-day,” induced the writer to continuehis studies of the Latin-American countriesand people. To this end an extensive tripwas made through several of the republics onthat great continent to the south of us, and thiswork is the first result of that journey.
