Soon after leaving Quebec on her voyage toLiverpool with over 1,300 souls on board, she was struck by the Norwegian collier “Storstad” offFather Point, Quebec, on May 29, 1914, at 2.10 A. M., and sank about fifteen minutes later, carryinga thousand of her passengers down with her.
